The California Housing Authorities Association (CHAA) is pleased to announce a new service available to local Housing Authorities and Section 8 landlords, the implementation of an access program for sex offender information now available from the State Department of Justice (DOJ). After months of working together, CHAA and DOJ have now successfully completed their month-long pilot project in implementing California’s new electronic sex offender information system. This new system, which can be accessed electronically via e-mail or submission of a compressed disk, provides information on all three levels of California registered sex offenders: “high risk,” “serious,” and “other.”
